Academic Policies

The following policies govern academic life at El-ROI Christian University. Students are responsible for knowing and adhering to these policies.

Grading System

El-ROI Christian University uses a 4.0 grading scale:

Academic Standing

  • Good Standing

    Undergraduate students must maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA. Graduate students must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA.

  • Academic Warning

    Students whose semester GPA falls below the minimum requirement will be placed on academic warning for the following semester.

  • Academic Probation

    Students who fail to raise their GPA after being placed on warning will be placed on academic probation.

  • Academic Suspension

    Students who fail to meet the terms of probation may be suspended for one semester.

Graduation Requirements

  • Completion of all required courses for the program

  • Minimum cumulative GPA (2.0 for undergraduate, 3.0 for graduate)

  • Residency requirement (minimum credits that must be earned at El-ROI)

  • Fulfillment of all financial obligations

  • Completion of Christian service requirements

  • Submission of graduation application by the deadline

Credit and Course Load

Full-time status requires the following minimum credit hours:

  • Undergraduate: 12 credit hours per semester

  • Graduate: 9 credit hours per semester

  • Maximum Load (Undergraduate): 18 credit hours per semester

  • Maximum Load (Graduate): 12 credit hours per semester

Students wishing to exceed the maximum load must obtain approval from their academic advisor and the registrar.

Academic Integrity

El-ROI Christian University is committed to the highest standards of academic integrity and expects all members of the university community to maintain these standards. Acts of academic dishonesty include:

  • Plagiarism: Presenting someone else's work as your own

  • Cheating: Using unauthorized materials during exams

  • Fabrication: Falsifying information or data

  • Facilitating Academic Dishonesty: Helping others commit acts of academic dishonesty

Violations of academic integrity may result in disciplinary action, including failing grades, probation, suspension, or dismissal.

Admission Requirements

El-ROI Christian University seeks students who demonstrate academic ability, character, and a desire to integrate faith with learning.

Undergraduate Admission

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale

  • ACT or SAT scores (optional)

  • Personal statement of faith

  • Two letters of recommendation

  • Official high school transcripts

Graduate Admission

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale

  • Personal statement of purpose

  • Statement of faith

  • Three letters of recommendation

  • Official college transcripts

  • GRE or GMAT scores (program dependent)

  • Professional resume or CV

Single Payment Plan

Full payment due by the first day of classes each semester. 2% discount available for this option.

Semester Payment Plan

Four equal payments throughout the semester. No additional fee.
